Laura De Santillana is an artist and designer internationally recognized for her work in glass, which is characterized by a refined, mininalist approach to form and colour. Her designs were shown in the United States for the first time in 1979 as part of a travelling exhibition "New Glass: A Worldwide Survey," which was organized by the Corning Museum of Glass.

Over the course of her career in glass, de Santillana has favoured a sculptural approach to her vessel-making, treating her vessels almost architecturally in her development of strong profiles and defined interior spaces. The artist's most recent sculpture is a sequence of exceptional stele-like objects, which are blown vessels that have been compressed until the two walls of glass meet.
